I am writing to thank you for my break – It has done me the world of good – meeting new people and having some new experiences, plus the assistance provided both by the care facilities and the volunteers.

After arriving on day one, I enjoyed the pool on day 2, with volunteers who assisted me when ever I needed it. After Lunch, Nellie, one of the volunteers took me to the shops on Southport Front and I finished off the day in the bar clubroom where I was able to get to know a few of the other guests. Wednesday which was day 3 of my break I had a quiet day enjoying sitting outside by the lovely sea inlet admiring lots of Sandpiper Birds, after a lovely time in the pool and some meditation.

On my last day the Thursday, the volunteers joined me in the pool and then enjoyed an afternoon of quizzes and general socialising. After Dinner we had some singing and poetry recitals by both volunteers and guests, when I said goodbye and thanked everyone – CSDH made my break possible through its generous grants programme, but the volunteers at Revitalise Sandpipers made it such a relaxing and special time – which set me up for coming back home and coping with day to day life and my complex needs – thank you so much
